Accomplish Your Weight Loss Goals In 2013!
On New Year’s Eve we begin to reflect on the memories and accomplishments of the past year and set our goals for the next year, which include some that we didn’t quite hit.
Here are 6 Tips to Help You Accomplish Your Weight Loss Goals in 2013:
1. Get organized! Make a list of the healthy changes you can accomplish, such as monitoring your weight, or taking a daily short walk to help you get into shape and create a healthy lifestyle change that will last.
2. Make sure your goals are attainable. This helps you avoid setting yourself up for failure. For example, focus on reaching a healthy True Weight which will be more realistic to accomplish than focusing on reaching your high school weight
3. Break your goal into smaller mini-goals. When it comes to getting into shape and keeping your weight stable, it may seem overwhelming. So instead, create a mini-goal, like adding a new vegetable to your dinner plate every week or incorporating a physical activity a few days per week. Small accomplishments add up!
4. Adjust. As you are working on making small changes in reaching your goal, create adjustment points every few months to review what has been working and what has not. If one of your small changes was to take a daily walk in the evening and you have not had time to fit it in after long work days, try taking a walk during a lunch break or before heading to work.
5. Reward yourself. After every small accomplishment, reward yourself to help you stay motivated and keep you focused on your goal. Use non-food rewards such as taking time to enjoy a favorite hobby, pampering yourself with a relaxing message, or buying a new outfit for your slimmer self.
