The long July 4th weekend is in just a few days – but summer holidays don't have to be filled with rich foods.  Healthy food should be delicious too!


Here are 10 Tips for a Great (Healthy) July 4th Party:


1. Start your morning of July 4th with a protein-rich breakfast such as scrambled eggs—this will help keep your blood sugar levels stable and keep you away from the non Dukan-friendly foods that you may be serving at your party for non-dieters.


2. Serve Dukan-friendly infused beverages at your party! Refreshing Lemon Mint Cucumber Water or Basil Lemon Water are 2 suggestions—just cut up the ingredients and toss into a pitcher of water. Serve them in wine glasses so you feel festive. And use mint or cucumber as a garnish in your beverage to spruce up your summer cocktail.


3. Thinking about having some alcohol? Be smart about drinking your calories. Skip the margarita and beer and choose calorie-free drinks such as sparkling water, iced tea or coffee. Serve them in mason jars—perfect for a backyard party!


4. When everyone else is waking up hung over after the party, you will feel great the whole day! If you are having your Celebration Meal, stick to red or white wine or make a wine spritzer by adding some sparkling water, which will keep your glass full for longer.


5. Make adjustments to your exercise routine when invited to or hosting a July 4th BBQ to keep you on track. Add 20 minutes of high intensity interval cardio to your workout– especially if you plan on enjoying a glass of wine.
