Why We Love Pumpkins!
Pumpkin is an exceptional vegetable because of its sweetness and nutritional value. Incredibly rich in dietary fiber, vitamins and antioxidants like lutein, xanthin and zeaxanthin, pumpkin is very low in calories and contains no saturated fats or cholesterol, making it a great weight loss aid.
Pumpkin is high in water content and has a sweet flavor making it a great for a snack to help control sugar cravings. A nice slice of firm pumpkin, steamed with vanilla or cinnamon sprinkled on top can distract you from such temptations.
Here are more slimming tips and decadent fall recipes to share with your family and friends this Halloween!
6 Slimming Tips For Halloween:
1. Sweets may be hard to avoid on Halloween, so reduce cravings with cocoa powder, such as the Dukan Diet Organic Cocoa Powder, which makes a great tasty addition to desserts.
2. While the temperature is cooling down, now is the best time to go for a walk; better yet make it an event to walk with a friend or the whole family for some calorie burning and bonding time this Halloween night!
3. During Halloween, keep your temptations for sweets at bay by chewing sugar-free gum, drinking plenty of water, and having a protein-filled meal before hunger strikes.
4. If you plan to join the festivities, hand out other goodies in replacement of candy, such as stickers, crayons, or miniature toys.
